I
CRAB began with a small group of not only
good mates but also very knowledgeable and local crabbers
that has spent many hard hours over the many years out
in the rivers and estuaries of the central coast catching
crabs. Until one man put his foot down and said enough
is enough!
Being in the industry of fishing and boating not many
people realised how big crabbing has become and how many
people are out there catching crabs. This sport has always
been known to be a great, fun event that anyone can do
and is now becoming a great family event as well. Although
slowly over time the crabbing industry has slowly been
getting harder and more competitive to the point where
crabbing is starting to get out of hand. Such as.. People
stealing other people’s pots, people checking and
taking other people’s crabs, people arguing at boat
ramps, boats being rammed, cameras being hidden to catch
out the thieves and most of all fisheries finding a ridiculous
amount of undersized bucks and even Jenny’s (Which
is illegal in Queensland).
Well this is not on anymore now we have I
CRAB!
The creator of I CRAB is highly committed
to make crabbing not just what it has always been back
in the good old days but will strive to make it a greater
more fun event for people now and more importantly the
future generations.
I CRAB is now setting out to not only
show but to teach people the right ways of crabbing, and
hoping that they can slowly phase out the people that
are not doing the right thing and start showing people
that by doing the right things and crabbing the right
ways will leave everybody going home happy with not only
all their gear back but a good feed of crabs as well.
There are enough crabs in the estuaries for everyone as
long as everyone is doing the right thing, so this is
why I CRAB is committed to show people
and to help people everything from the basic’s to
maybe even a few little ticks for those crabber’s
that knows there stuff.
I CRAB would appreciate any support you
keen crabber’s have to also help the crabbing industry
by crabbing the right way and helping others crab the
right way for many more generations to come.
